
Amy M. Rypins, CPA, Esq.
Ms. Rypins, an attorney and CPA, is the founder of QDRO Pros, Inc and the principal in The Law Offices of Amy Rypins, a boutique business and estate planning law firm.
She founded QDRO Pros, Inc. in 1996 as a way to offer efficient, cost effective and expert division of retirement of plans in divorce for both advisors and their clients and revolutionized the QDRO processing of QDROs.
She is currently working on revolutionizing the QDRO processing business by developing QDRO Pros iQ – a step by step method to analyze various scenarios for retirement plan division.
Ms. Rypins has extensive experience advising businesses and individuals on all aspects of retirement planning and pension related issues. She was a member of the editorial board for the CEB’s publication regarding employee benefits and domestic partnerships in California. She has chaired the North Coastal Discussion Group for the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, San Diego Bar Association, ASPA, Association of Women Business Owners and the San Diego Business Forum. She is a frequent speaker on QDROs, estate planning and business issues throughout San Diego.
Ms. Rypins supports numerous philanthropic endeavors. She is a longstanding member and Past President of the Board of Directors of Center for Community Solutions, a non-profit organization providing prevention and healing for sexual assault and relationship violence. She was honored as Statewide Board Member of the Year 2004 by the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault and a finalist in the 2004 San Diego Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Awards. She is a member of the Estates and Trusts Committee of Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
Ms. Rypins graduated magna cum laude from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. In addition to her law degree, she also completed Masters work in accounting at Georgia State University.
